The IBIS compilation will take the form of a quarterly print book. The premier issue has stories from 5 contributors ranging in age from 8 to age 15 yrs old. All contributors are working on their own stories with topics from the of antics of animal characters, to action adventure, to slice of life stories. The premier IBIS issue is due to be released in SPRING 2015 and be available for purchase through popular online book distributors and through this site. Speaking of this website ... IBIS Infinite was originally created to be the official site for the publication but immediately evolved to be a showcase for a variety of creative works. It is also our hope that the IBIS Infinite blog will serve as a fertile watering hole for a creative community of people.
The original motivation of the IBIS graphic novel compilation was a challenge by artist Dirk Joseph to a group of art students to work on a graphic novel story, finish it, and publish their stories together. A secondary aim is to demystify the self publishing process for these young creatives. The work continues to that aim as the contributors have to balance their creative work for IBIS with schoolwork, family interests, an onslaught of distractions that our world provides. However we are on course to publish in Spring 2015. Subsequent issues will probably see a growing number of other artists contributing, but for now it stays small while we iron out the kinks.
Peace (of mind), and Imagination!
